Pineapple Teriyaki Little Smokies

There’s something wonderfully comforting about a slow cooker dish that practically makes itself, especially on those busy days when you still want a warm, flavorful snack to share. These Pineapple Teriyaki Little Smokies are a fun, sweet-and-savory appetizer that always disappears quickly at gatherings. The juicy bites of sausage paired with bright pineapple and a sticky teriyaki glaze make this one of those no-fuss recipes you’ll find yourself turning to again and again.

Ingredients:

  • 2 packages (14 oz each) cocktail smoked sausages
  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple chunks, drained — reserve the juice
  • 2 cups honey-style teriyaki marinade (any favorite brand works beautifully)
  • 1 cup sweet Asian chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Sliced green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Place the smoked sausages and drained pineapple chunks into a 1.5-quart slow cooker.
  2. Pour the teriyaki marinade and sweet chili sauce over the top, giving everything a gentle stir so the sausages are well coated.
  3. Cover and cook on high for about 2 hours, letting the flavors come together.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk the cornstarch with ¼ cup of the reserved pineapple juice until smooth. Stir this mixture into the slow cooker to help the sauce thicken.
  5. If the sauce becomes too thick, loosen it with a splash more pineapple juice. Stir everything well.
  6. Before serving, sprinkle with green onions and a scattering of sesame seeds for a little extra color and crunch.
