There’s just something comforting about letting dinner quietly bubble away in the slow cooker while you go about your day. These tender chicken drumsticks are rubbed with a little seasoning, smothered in Sweet Baby Ray’s, and left to cook low and slow until they’re fall-apart delicious. It’s the kind of easy, family-friendly meal I love to lean on—simple ingredients, minimal fuss, and a big payoff at dinnertime.
Ingredients
- 3 pounds chicken drumsticks
- 2 tablespoons BBQ seasoning blend
- 2 1/2 cups Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, divided
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Mist the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray.
- Massage the BBQ seasoning over all the drumsticks, making sure each one gets a good coat, then layer them inside the slow cooker.
- Add 2 cups of the barbecue sauce over the chicken and gently stir or turn the pieces so they’re evenly covered.
- Cover and cook on low for 5–6 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until the meat is tender.
- Turn on your oven broiler.
- Lift the drumsticks out and arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray.
- Brush the remaining 1/2 cup sauce over the tops. Broil for 3–5 minutes, just until the edges caramelize and crisp up a bit.
- Serve warm and enjoy every sticky bite.
