There’s something so comforting about setting a slow cooker on a busy day and letting it work its magic. This creamy taco dip has become one of my go-to party starters—rich, a little zesty, and absolutely irresistible with a bowl of crunchy tortilla chips. It’s the kind of recipe friends hover around, chatting and dipping long after the meal is over. Perfect for game nights, potlucks, or any time you want a warm, crowd-pleasing snack with hardly any fuss.
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 (8-oz) blocks cream cheese, softened
- 1 (16-oz) block processed cheese, cubed
- 2 cups of your favorite salsa
- 1 (4-oz) can diced green chilies
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- Tortilla chips, for serving
Instructions
- Warm a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns.
- Once the meat is cooked through, drain off any excess fat and spoon the beef into a 3- to 4-quart slow cooker.
- Add the softened cream cheese, processed cheese cubes, salsa, green chilies, and taco seasoning. Give everything a light stir just to start things mixing together.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 1½ to 2 hours, stirring now and then, until the cheeses melt and the dip becomes silky and well blended.
- Serve the dip warm with plenty of tortilla chips for scooping. Enjoy!
