Baked 3 Packet Pot Roast

There’s something so comforting about a good pot roast, especially one you can toss together in minutes and let it work its magic all afternoon. This easy three-packet version has been a cozy staple in my kitchen for years. It’s wonderfully tender, full of rich, savory flavor, and perfect spooned over creamy mashed potatoes or a bed of warm rice after a long day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix (1 ounce)
  • 1 packet dry Italian-style dressing mix (.7 ounce)
  • 1 packet dry brown gravy mix (.75 ounce)
  • 1 boneless beef chuck roast, about 3 pounds

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients so they’re ready to go.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the water, ranch mix, Italian dressing mix, and brown gravy mix until everything dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Nestle the chuck roast into your slow cooker and pour the seasoned mixture right over the top, making sure the meat is well-coated.
  4. Cover and cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours, or until the roast is tender enough to pull apart with a fork.
