There’s something wonderfully reassuring about letting the slow cooker do the heavy lifting—especially on days when life feels a bit too busy to fuss over the oven. This tender turkey breast comes out beautifully seasoned, juicy, and perfectly ready for an easy family dinner or a small holiday gathering. It’s the kind of recipe I love: simple ingredients, very little hands-on time, and a reward that tastes like you spent the whole afternoon tending to it.
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 boneless turkey breast (3–4 lbs)
- 1 whole head of garlic, sliced horizontally
- 1 medium yellow onion, peeled and cut in half
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, stir together the garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, and olive oil until you have a smooth, fragrant paste.
- Massage the paste all over the turkey breast, making sure to coat every nook and cranny.
- Lay the halved onion and garlic in the bottom of your slow cooker, then pour in the chicken broth.
- Set the seasoned turkey breast on top of the aromatics. Nestle in the thyme and rosemary sprigs.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- (Optional) For a lovely crisp finish, transfer the turkey to a rack over a baking sheet and broil on LOW for 5–8 minutes.
- Use the flavorful drippings to make a simple gravy if you’d like. Slice the turkey and serve warm.
