Strawberry Angel Food Cake

There’s something so comforting about a cool, berry-filled dessert, especially when the weather warms up. This simple, no-bake treat is one I love to pull together when I’m short on time but still want something that feels special. Soft angel food cake, a creamy strawberry filling, and plenty of fresh berries come together in the most delightful way—perfect for family gatherings, church socials, or a lazy Sunday afternoon on the porch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 prepared angel food cake (store-bought works beautifully)
  • 1 box (3 oz) strawberry gelatin mix
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1 heaping cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed

Instructions:

  1. Pull the angel food cake apart with your hands into small chunks and set them aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, pour the boiling water over the strawberry gelatin and stir until the crystals are fully dissolved.
  3. Add the cold water to the bowl and mix again to help cool it down a bit.
  4. Gently fold in the whipped topping until everything blends into a smooth, rosy cream.
  5. In a 9×13-inch dish, scatter half of the cake pieces, spoon half of the strawberry cream over the top, and sprinkle on half of the sliced berries.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, cream, and berries.
  7. Cover the dish and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the dessert is fully set and nicely chilled.
  8. Slice, serve cold, and enjoy every refreshing bite.
