There’s something magical about the mix of buttery pecans, silky caramel, and smooth chocolate — a trio that never goes out of style. These Sweet Georgia Browns are a Southern-inspired treat that brings together toasted nuts, rich caramel, and a glossy chocolate finish. Each bite tastes like a cozy afternoon on a Georgia porch swing.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1 (11-ounce) bag soft caramel candies, unwrapped
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 10 ounces good-quality milk or semi-sweet chocolate
- Sea salt flakes (optional, but oh so good)
Instructions:
- Toast the pecans: Preheat your oven to 300°F. Spread the pecan halves on a baking sheet and roast for 10–15 minutes, or until they’re fragrant and slightly darkened. Sprinkle lightly with salt once they come out of the oven.
- Prepare your pan: Lightly grease a mini muffin tin or line it with paper cups. Drop 3–4 roasted pecan halves into each section — they’ll form the delicious crunchy base.
- Make the caramel: In a small saucepan, melt the caramel candies with the heavy cream over low heat. Stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
- Assemble: Spoon a bit of the warm caramel over the pecans in each muffin cup. Let them cool slightly so the caramel firms up a bit.
- Top with chocolate: Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave (in 15-second bursts, stirring each time). Spoon or drizzle a layer of chocolate over each caramel cluster.
- Finish and set: Sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt flakes if you like a little sweet-salty contrast. Let the candies cool completely before removing them from the tin.
