Ingredients

  • 2 cans sliced peaches in syrup 15 oz each, undrained
  • 1 box yellow cake mix 15.25 oz, dry, do not prepare according to package directions
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup butter melted

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Pour both cans of sliced peaches into the baking dish, including the syrup, and spread evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the peaches.
  4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the peach layer, without preparing it according to the package directions.
  5. Gently spread the cake mix into an even layer, covering most of the peaches.
  6. Slowly drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much of the surface as possible.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling around the edges.
  8. Let the dessert cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.
  9. Serve warm on its own or with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

For extra crunch, add chopped pecans over the cake mix before drizzling with butter. Do not drain the peaches unless you prefer a drier dessert.
