Method
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together milk, chopped sauerkraut, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pie shell.
- Bake for about 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted 1 inch from the edge comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a smoother texture, rinse sauerkraut lightly before using. Sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg on top for added flavor.
