Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/2 cups blackberries fresh or frozen, thawed and drained
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter melted

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, combine blackberries and sugar. Let stand about 20 minutes until syrup forms.
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. Stir in melted butter until combined.
  4. Pour batter into an ungreased 8x8-inch pan and spread evenly.
  5. Spoon blackberry mixture evenly over the batter without stirring.
  6. Bake for 45–55 minutes until the top is golden and the cobbler is set.
  7. Serve warm with cream, whipped cream, or ice cream if desired.

Notes

Do not stir the layers before baking. Try adding a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth.
