Ingredients
  

  • 0.75 cup butter softened
  • 1 tbsp butter additional
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 oz butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup pecans finely chopped
  • 3 cups powdered sugar for glaze
  • 3-4 tbsp milk or water, for glaze
  • 1 tsp rum extract
  • 0.5 cup pecans chopped, for topping

Method
 

  1. Cream butter, powdered sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in flour until combined.
  3. Fold in butterscotch chips and chopped pecans.
  4. Shape dough into small balls and place on baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 325°F for 15–20 minutes until set but not browned.
  6. Cool completely on wire racks.
  7. Mix glaze ingredients until smooth.
  8. Dip or drizzle glaze over cookies.
  9. Sprinkle with pecans and let glaze set.

Notes

Keep cookies pale for a tender texture. The rum glaze adds a classic bakery-style finish—don’t skip it.
