Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • walnuts to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream butter and sugars, then add eggs.
  3. Mix in vanilla, baking soda, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Add flour and oats, mixing until combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.
  6. Drop large spoonfuls onto baking sheet.
  7. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden and set.

Notes

For softer cookies, bake closer to 10–12 minutes. These cookies are meant to be big, rustic, and chewy.
