  • 0.5 cup butter unsalted, softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet.
  2. Cream butter and cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla; mix until combined.
  4. Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt until dough forms.
  5. Chill dough for 1 hour.
  6. Roll into balls and flatten slightly.
  7. Bake for 9–11 minutes until bottoms are golden.
  8. Cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Keep cookies pale for a soft texture. Chilling the dough helps prevent spreading and improves flavor.
