Ingredients

  • 4 lbs pork baby back ribs
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 4 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash hot sauce

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season ribs generously with salt and pepper. Place in a shallow baking pan.
  3. Bake ribs for 15 minutes, turn over, and bake another 15 minutes until lightly browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine barbecue sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, salt, and pepper.
  5. Place ribs into the slow cooker and pour sauce over top, turning ribs to coat evenly.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours, until ribs are tender and flavorful.
  7. Serve hot with extra barbecue sauce if desired.

Notes

For caramelized edges, broil ribs for 3–5 minutes before serving. Great with coleslaw, cornbread, or baked beans.
