Ingredients

  • 16 oz beef stew meat
  • 2 bell peppers sliced into strips
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes with juice
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for coating and gravy

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour and seasoned salt. Coat beef stew meat evenly in the mixture.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef, garlic, and sliced bell peppers and cook until beef begins to brown.
  3. Transfer beef and peppers to a lined slow cooker, leaving excess grease in the skillet.
  4. Add stewed tomatoes with juice and beef broth to the skillet. Stir in Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Gradually whisk in remaining flour until a smooth gravy forms.
  6. Pour gravy mixture over the beef and peppers in the slow cooker.
  7. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours, until beef is tender and flavors are blended.
  8. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.

Notes

Use red and green bell peppers for extra color and sweetness. Add onions or mushrooms for more depth of flavor.
