Ingredients
Method
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, ground turkey, or Italian sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Stir in marinara sauce or pizza sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Add bell peppers, mushrooms, black olives, or any toppings you want softened. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
- Divide the saucy meat mixture into oven-safe bowls, ramekins, or a small baking dish.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over each bowl.
- Arrange sliced pepperoni on top of the cheese.
- Place bowls on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes, or broil for 2 to 4 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Add Parmesan, red pepper flakes, basil, or extra Italian seasoning if desired.
Notes
For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken; for a meatless bowl, use sautéed mushrooms, peppers, onions, and spinach. Let each person customize toppings for an easy family meal.
