Method
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook macaroni until al dente, then drain and return to the pot.
- Add butter to the hot pasta and stir until melted. Set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together evaporated milk, milk, eggs, and garlic salt until smooth.
- In another bowl, combine shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
- Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Layer 1/3 of the macaroni in the dish, followed by 1/3 of the cheese. Repeat layers until all is used.
- Pour milk mixture evenly over the layered pasta and cheese. Sprinkle paprika on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until set and golden on top. Let rest briefly before serving.
Notes
Add cooked bacon or breadcrumbs for extra texture. Let it rest 10 minutes for cleaner slices.
