Method
- Mix flour and salt and set aside.
- Cream butter and powdered sugar, then mix in vanilla.
- Add flour mixture and mix until dough forms.
- Fold in cherries and chocolate chips.
- Shape dough into a log, wrap, and chill 1–2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 325°F and slice dough into rounds.
- Place on baking sheet and bake 10–15 minutes until lightly golden.
- Cool before transferring to rack.
Notes
Drain cherries well to prevent excess moisture. Chilling the dough helps the cookies slice cleanly and hold their shape.
