Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 29 oz tomato sauce 1 can
  • 29 oz diced tomatoes 1 can with juice
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper ground
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cups white rice cooked

Method

  1. Heat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat and cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add chopped green bell pepper and sauté for about 3 minutes until slightly softened.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes with juice, bouillon cubes, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and soy sauce until well combined.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes to develop flavor.
  5. Stir in cooked rice and let it heat through, absorbing the flavors.
  6. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use brown rice for a healthier twist or swap beef for ground turkey. Add extra bell peppers for more texture and flavor.
