Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef

1/3 green bell pepper, minced

1/2 large yellow onion, minced

2/3 c ketchup

1/3 c water

1 tablespoon tomato paste

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar (or less, if you prefer)

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon olive oil

1 teaspoon yellow mustard

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

3/4 teaspoon chilli powder

dash of hot sauce (optional)

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions:

Put a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.

Add butter and allow it to melt, then add the oil.

Add the ground beef and cook until brown.

Remove the cooked ground beef from the skillet into a colander to drain any accumulated fat.

In the same skillet, add the bell pepper and onion, then sauté until translucent.

Add in the garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds or until aromatic.

Add the beef back into the skillet and stir until well combined.

Add the tomato paste and stir until well blended.

Add water, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, chilli powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.

Cook for about 15 minutes or until thickened.

Remove from the skillet and serve immediately over buns. Make sure to toast the buns first.

Serve and enjoy!

Note:

Place them inside the freezer and they can last up to 4 months.
