Ingredients
  

  • 1 box cake mix yellow, angel food, or chocolate
  • 1 package vanilla pudding mix instant
  • 3 bananas sliced
  • 1.5 cups strawberries sliced
  • 1.75 cups pineapple chopped or crushed, drained
  • 8 oz whipped topping thawed
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries chopped
  • 0.5 cup pecans optional
  • 0.25 cup chocolate syrup

Method
 

  1. Prepare cake according to package directions and let cool completely.
  2. Cut cake into bite-sized cubes.
  3. Prepare pudding according to package directions.
  4. Layer half of the cake cubes in a trifle dish.
  5. Top with half of pudding, bananas, strawberries, pineapple, whipped topping, cherries, chocolate syrup, and nuts.
  6. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  7. Chill until ready to serve.

Notes

Use a clear dish for best presentation. Add bananas just before layering to prevent browning if making ahead.
