Ingredients
  

  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 12 oz bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 0.25 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup pecans optional

Method
 

  1. Melt chocolate chips and butter until smooth, then cool slightly.
  2. Whisk eggs, sugars, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Stir in melted chocolate mixture.
  4. Mix in flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans if using.
  6. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F and scoop dough onto baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes until tops crack and centers remain soft.
  9. Cool slightly before transferring to a rack.

Notes

Do not overbake—these cookies should stay soft in the center for that signature fudgy texture.
